Lamwo authorities are demanding full accountability reports from outgoing parish committees before handing over responsibilities to newly elected leaders.

Lamwo district LC5 chairperson Oyet Sisto Ocen announced the deaths and hospitalisation of his residents during a press conference in Gulu City.

Lamwo district continues to invest in the rehabilitation and maintenance of community access roads to support agriculture, trade and service delivery. 

Angee Irene, a farmer from Agoro Central village, hopes the project will provide reliable water for her 19 acres, where she grows rice, soybeans and maize.

Sarah Lakot, one of the beneficiaries from Agoro sub-county, said the hand hoe would enable her to expand the size of her garden and improve food production for her family.

Lamwo district councillor for Katum sub-county Ocen James, said the district must ensure that future recruitment exercises are completed within the required timelines.

Milly, a resident of Kitgum Municipality, argued that improving service delivery requires more than enforcing residency rules. 

Obita Michael, a clan leader in Palabek Ogili sub-county, said the dispute has created fear among residents and disrupted normal community activities.

Authorities say sustained collaboration between security agencies and local communities will be essential in curbing cross-border crime.

Susan Abodo, a resident in Padibe West, described the decision as long overdue, arguing that public servants should be available within the communities they serve.

Poor sanitation remains a persistent challenge in many rural communities and continues to contribute to preventable diseases.
