Five suspects are at large, one identified as Apio Stella has since been arrested to assist with investigations, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, said.

Stones suspected to have been used as murder weapons were recovered and kept as exhibits, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, PRO for North Kyoga Region said.

The case was reported on the same date at about 10:05pm by Sergeant Olenga John Bosco, 55, a police officer attached to Kwania district and a resident of Akii-Pe Cell, Barapwo Ward, Lira City West Division.

The body of the deceased was conveyed to Anyeke Health Centre IV mortuary for postmortem examination, according to SP Jimmy Patrick Okema.

Efforts to trace the mother of the deceased and the babysitter are ongoing, SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, PRO for North Kyoga Region, said.

Following a swift police response, suspects identified as Ongom George, Obaa Innocent, Olwala Jonathan, Ojok Bonny and Ojok Calvins were arrested.

At the scene, a thorough examination was conducted by the dog handler, after which a sniffer dog was introduced. 

According to sources privy to the death, Khalid who had been normal, suddenly collapsed and died.

The crime occurred in Agwata forest located in Bung Cell, Amuda Central ward, Agwata Town Council, Dokolo district.

Police claim the mobilisation was carried out using various media platforms, including TikTok.

Two suspects are currently in custody at Kamdini Town Council Police Station to assist with investigations, according to SP Jimmy Patrick Okema.
