Upon searching their bags, officers recovered pangas, breaking implements, and two suspected stolen phones. 

Police PRO for Albertine, Julius Allan Hakiza, noted that in the last weeks, they registered a decrease in motor theft, but with an increase in vandalism on vehicles.

The matter was reported at Adwir Police Station on March 22, 2026, at around 12:00 pm by Oleke Peter, 44, and the LC1 chairperson of the village.

The police have identified the three suspects as Fambe Stella, Opoma Richard, and Amiku Fastus.
