Police in Kagadi are currently holding a 32-year-old man, John Byaruhanga in an attempted murder of four children.
Byaruhanga is a resident of Ruhura B village, Zahra parish, Rugachali sub-county, Kagadi.
A preliminary investigation report indicates that Byaruhanga together with his father Jenerasi Katusabe had visited the home of Biziminyera Pukilia, 67, for spiritual prayers.
Albertine Regional Police PRO, ASP Julius Allan Hakiza confirmed the incident.
Hakisa says that the two visited the home of Biziminyera on Wednesday where they spent the night. Unfortunately, he said on Wednesday at 3:00am, Byaruhanga woke up and picked up a panga and attacked four children.
He severely cut his children while they were asleep.
The PRO disclosed the identity of the victims as Ainambabazi Catherine, 14, Twinamwe Scolosio, 14, Twinomujuni Sunday, 9, and Kebirungi Emily, 7 all the grandchildren of Biziminyera.
Hakiza said that the victims were admitted to the hospital for medication while the suspect had been detained at Rugachali police station as investigations into the matter continue.
