Amolatar: 16yo S1 student of Kangai SS fatally stabbed by unknown attacker

A 16-year-old boy and S1 student at Kangai Secondary School in Amolatar district has tragically lost his life.

Odon Keneth was fatally stabbed by an unknown assailant in Abedober village, Arwotcek parish, Amolatar district.

According to Onyang Sam, the grandfather of the deceased, Odon was attacked around 2 am on Sunday.

Odon was walking with his friend, Okot, the son of Adii Tonny.

The report states that an unidentified man approached them on a bicycle and began stabbing Okot from behind. When Odon turned to see what was occurring, he was stabbed twice in the chest.

After the attack, his friend placed him on the bicycle and attempted to transport him, but he succumbed to his injuries within a few meters.

Okot, who was also stabbed in the back, was subsequently rushed to a clinic in Anyangoga trading centre.

The vice chairperson of LC3 Arwotcek, Moses Aboko, the newly elected LC3 chairperson for Arwotcek sub-county, also confirmed that the incident occurred around 2 am.

Aboko said he was informed by a police officer from the Alemere police post who told him someone had been killed in front of his location.

Aboko condemned the incident, expressing sorrow over the loss of a young boy with a promising future.

Police from Amolatar later arrived to retrieve the body, which was taken to Amolatar Health Centre IV mortuary for a postmortem examination.

Odon completed his primary leaving examination at Abaler Primary School last year and was admitted to Kangai Senior Secondary School in 2026 to start Senior One.

Murder cases have been on the rise in the Lango sub-region since the year began. tndNews, Uganda, places reported cases at different police stations to above 3 dozen.
