Outstanding inquiries are ongoing to recover more key exhibits, police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke assured the country on Monday. 

One suspect, Okai Solomon, 18, has been arrested and is currently in custody to assist police with inquiries.

DPC SP David Otabongo has appealed to the general public in the district to avoid engaging in criminal activities.

In November last year, Sunday Ronald went to Kakumiro district, robbed and killed a motorcyclist whose details have yet to be identified by the police.

The matter was reported at Adwir Police Station on March 22, 2026, at around 12:00 pm by Oleke Peter, 44, and the LC1 chairperson of the village.

The police have identified the three suspects as Fambe Stella, Opoma Richard, and Amiku Fastus.

All the suspects were detained at Kamdini Police Station, pending screening and further investigations, SP Okema said.

The suspects have been identified as Jordan Kibuka, 25, and Semata, also known as Kidewalime, 23.

RPC has instructed officers in the region to carry out joint intelligence operations to ensure peace, stability, and the eradication of criminal activities.

All the suspects are residents of Arwot A Cell and neighboring areas within the same town council.

On February 26, Lira Regional Referral Hospital security team and police arrested fake medical officer Okello Moses for defrauding shs200,000 from a patient’s caregiver.

The crime occurred on February 26 at 20:30 am at Alit village, Adola parish, Awiodyek sub-county, Lira.
