The UPC delegates’ conference is scheduled to take place on Saturday July 26 in Kamdini town council, Oyam South.
Article 14.1(3) of the UPC Constitution limits the party presidency to two five-year terms, with an exception only if a sitting president wins Uganda’s national presidency.
UPC electoral commission chairperson Hajji Mahmoud Kazimbiraine advised candidates to adhere to the party constitution and election roadmap.
UPC primaries are set for August 2025 to select flag-bearers for the general election.
Politically, Oyam district’s South and North and woman MP seats are dominated by UPC. Acilo has vowed to take over the latter.
