On Thursday, August 20, 2026, on the floor of Parliament, the Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) party MP for Maruzi County Peter Obong Acuda, appreciated the Prime Minister of Uganda.
Obong, elected for the first time in the 2026 general elections, commended the Prime Minister for “her dedicated service and outstanding contributions to national development.”
He encouraged her to continue serving the country with the same zeal and commitment.
MP Obong expressed profound gratitude to Prime Minister Nabbanja for her privilege of serving the nation, noting her invaluable mentorship of the younger generation.
The UPC MP described Nabbanja as “the most committed Prime Minister in Uganda’s history.”

He urged fellow ministers in the NRM government to emulate her exemplary work ethic.
Acuda is the first “opposition MP” from Lango to passionately applaud Nabbanja.
We reached out to UPC party leaders – especially Jimmy Akena Obote, to comment on Acuda’s remarks, and whether the UPC rates Nabbanja so highly. However, he was not reachable via a phone call.
