Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) through its national secretariat has issued a list of party members currently facing disciplinary action for allegedly violating the party constitution.

On August 31, 2026, the party National Disciplinary Committee (NDC) chairperson P.P. Okello launched a series of disciplinary hearings against several members.

The said members were referred to the committee for alleged misconduct contrary to the UPC Constitution (2008 as amended) and the Party Rules of Procedure, says Muzeyi Faizo, UPC’s head of media and communication.

Faizo said on Wednesday that the committee officially commenced business on September 1, 2026, at Garden Inn Hotel, Lira City, and it adjourned proceedings to September 3 at the party headquarters, Uganda House, Kampala.

Members whose cases are currently before the first session of the National Disciplinary Committee include Enap Adim Denis, who claims to be the legitimate UPC party president, Jack Kabusu, Natukunda Nawume Aisha and Magero Emmanuel Were.

Others are Achola Suzan, Ongom Chris, Acaba sub-county LC3 councillor to Oyam district, Ogwal Adyebo Alex; Ewal George and Babirye Josephine.

“The party commends the National Disciplinary Committee for the successful conduct of its first hearing,” Faizo said in a statement issued on Wednesday.

“We wish to emphasise that the Committee is an independent organ of the Party and shall communicate the outcome of the ongoing proceedings at an appropriate time in accordance with established procedures.”

He informed members and the public that sub-county level disciplinary committees in different parts of the country are also handling cases within their mandate and jurisdiction.

“We further call upon all members of the UPC to conduct party business in strict adherence to the Party Code of Conduct and within the framework of the laws of Uganda,” he stated.

In recent months, Adim and his group have met the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) top leadership in what some say is “seeking a political alliance”.

PLU’s chairman is CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
