Malaika Mutoni, the wife of political analyst Frank Gashumba, has joined the growing dispute between her husband and Pastor Robert Kayanja’s family, telling Jessica Kayanja to leave innocent children and future generations out of the ongoing feud.
Mutoni said she had initially stayed out of the matter after her husband asked her not to get involved. However, she decided to speak after hearing remarks about generational curses allegedly directed at Gashumba’s children, including those who are yet to be born. She questioned why the innocence of her husband’s children was not receiving the same consideration.
Her comments came after Jessica Kayanja defended her husband during a church sermon on Thursday evening. Jessica criticised Gashumba for comments about Pastor Robert Kayanja’s physical appearance, including his baldness and hair dye. She argued that disagreements should be addressed with facts rather than personal remarks.
Mutoni said she did not support body-shaming or insults about anyone’s appearance. However, she argued that such comments could not be compared with statements about death and alleged generational curses against innocent children. She called on Jessica to consider the impact of the dispute on Gashumba’s family.
The feud started after Gashumba challenged pastors, prophets and apostles who claim to perform miracles to demonstrate their healing powers in hospitals under publicly verifiable conditions. He initially offered Shs200 million to any preacher who could heal a critically ill patient, later increasing the offer to Shs500 million.

Pastor Robert Kayanja responded by defending miracle claims associated with his ministry and accusing Gashumba of mocking Christianity and the blood of Jesus. The disagreement escalated further after Kayanja reportedly made remarks about Gashumba’s possible death, compared his fate to that of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and made statements that Mutoni interpreted as curses against her husband’s descendants.Mutoni maintained that her husband’s initial criticism was directed at pastors he considered fake and that he had not mentioned Kayanja by name in his first videos. She urged Jessica to ask her husband to keep the disagreement focused on the adults involved instead of bringing children and future generations into it.
Mutoni also appealed to Christian teachings on forgiveness and urged both families to remember that they profess the same faith. She said neither family had exclusive ownership of God or His grace and asked Jessica to show the same concern for Gashumba’s family that she had shown for her husband. She concluded that the dignity of one family should never be defended at the expense of innocent children from another family.
