Hoima Central Police Station (CPS) is currently holding two prime suspects in connection with the murder of a Hoima City businessman two weeks ago.
The duo whose particulars were not made public were arrested last weekend following tight security crackdown into the murder of businessman Barongo Joshua.
Barongo until his death was a resident of Kasasa cell, in Hoima City West Division.
According to the Albertine Regional Police PRO, SP Julius Allan Hakiza, the security flying squad tracked the suspects from where they had gone to seek witchcraft to cease the murder case in Mpigi.
“One of the suspects had gone to a witch doctor in Mpigi district just to help him cease the case, but fortunately we were able to track them down including the witch doctor, who finally helped us to reach the suspects,” Hakiza told tndNews, Uganda.
“So, after we interrogated the witch doctor, he was able to give us a push to the prime suspects who were then arrested and will be charged with the murder case.”
Hakiza also disclosed that one suspect was arrested with the deceased’s mobile phone.
Meanwhile, the PRO called on members of the public with necessary information about the murder to assist the police in its ongoing investigation processes.
