Excitement grips Napak district ahead of MP Nakut Faith’s nomination

Jubilation and excitement continue to sweep across Napak district as residents prepare to re-elect their Woman Member of Parliament, Nakut Faith in 2026.

tndNews understands that her official nomination for another term is scheduled for October 22, 2025, at the District Electoral Commission headquarters.

Nakut, who has already been re-elected as the NRM flag bearer for the Napak District Woman MP seat in the 2026 general elections, is receiving overwhelming support from her constituents.

Her journey in the 11th Parliament of Uganda has been marked by notable achievements that have drawn national attention.

Reflecting on her tenure, Nakut expressed humility and a strong sense of duty. “With profound humility and a deep sense of duty, I present my account of a shared journey with my constituents over the past years,” she stated, emphasizing that her leadership is anchored in transparency, accountability, and effective representation.

Speaking on Monday, October 20, 2025, Nakut highlighted her commitment to strengthening trust between leaders and the people. She outlined her focus on the core roles of a Member of Parliament: legislation, budget approval, representation, and oversight.

According to the MP, she is set to initiate her official campaign at the Nawaikorot Grounds situated in Ngoleriet sub-county. This follows her nominations from the EC office at Kangole town council in Napark district.

Her commitment has led to significant appointments, which include:

Membership on the Oversight Board for the Office of the Auditor General

Leadership of the Ugandan Delegation to the African Parliamentary Union

Role as NRM Parliamentary Caucus Treasurer

Chairperson of the Parliamentary Forum on Menstrual Health and Hygiene

Chairperson of a Select Parliamentary Committee that investigated the management and governance of Posta Uganda

Beyond her legislative duties, Nakut has made significant grassroots contributions, including:

Donating a fully-equipped ambulance to Matany Hospital to support maternal health and referrals, which has served over 5000 people already.

Nakut has also provided support to over 50 churches within a span of four years, serving as a significant contributor to grassroots churches throughout the entire district.

Regarding education through scholarships, she has assisted numerous students at all educational levels. For instance, secondary 10 students, tertiary with over 20 students. In addition she worked with partners to provide scholastic materials for pupils in schools.

She was instrumental in the resettlement in school of 600+ children that were rescued from the slavery of street begging.

As the incumbent MP and NRM flag bearer, Faith continues to enjoy popular support across Napak district, therefore solidifying her reputation as a dedicated and impactful leader ahead of the 2026 polls.
