The Sector One Commander, Brigadier General Jackson Kayanja, urged troops to remain vigilant, warning that the security environment remains unpredictable.

Barawe District Commissioner, Umaru Abdulahi Mahammad, praised the strong cooperation and professionalism demonstrated by Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) troops under AUSSOM. 

Salaad Cusmaan Macalin, alias “Sahm,” was apprehended on Wednesday in the north-western outskirts of Mubaraka by the UPDF and SNA troops.

Capt Tonny Onen and Sergeant Kalambizi Geoffrey all spoke on behalf of the trainees.

The UPDF reiterates its commitment to supporting peace enforcement and stabilisation efforts in Somalia.

Speaking on behalf of the trainees, Capt Ikule Yassin said that the course enhanced their aviation security capabilities.

Lt Col Akankunda, in his remarks, congratulated UNGU XI on their performance and pledged to build on their achievements. 

Lieutenant General Sam Kavuma, commended the recipients for their performance during their tour of duty.

The Ugandan Contingent Administration Officer, Colonel Hamza Kasajja, described Tarehe Sita as a landmark day in the history of Uganda and the UPDF, representing sacrifice, patriotism, and service to humanity.

The UPDF Battle Group 46 Commander, Colonel Saul Nabimanya, reaffirmed his commitment to continued cooperation and support for the Somali National Army in joint security operations.

Brig Gen Joseph Musoke Ssemwanga, the Commander of Sector One in Somalia, applauded NIRA and the UPDF leadership for considering troops serving in mission areas.
