Lango Province teams for the 2025 edition of Fufa Drum are out with the adorers of the Rhino, Lango’s totem beginning their title defense in Apac Municipality on September 6.
General coordinator of the Province team Charles Opio Olol announced on Tuesday that the team would travel to Apac Municipality on Wednesday, September 3 to host Buganda Province at the weekend.
The defending champions beat Busoga Province in the finals. Opio Olol urged the people of Apac to get ready to host the game between Lango and Buganda Provinces.
With a few days to the kick-off, who is who in the management? Peter Okodo, proprietor of Jerusalem Institute of Health Sciences was elected chairman of the Province.
He, and others on the management team were approved by the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA).
The full list includes Olodo, patroness, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero and patron, Denis Hamson Obua.
Administration includes general secretary, Aron Alal, secretary for Finance, Anok Geoffrey; head of fans, Labongo Rose, chief mobilizer, Ebuk Sam aka Sam Samu, general coordinator, Charles Opio Olol
Willy Omodo Omodo is representing culture while head of technical is Obeto Ivan, head coach, Obira Bob, assistant coaches: Ronald Okello and Otega Ocogo.
Team doctors: Ongom Walter and Akello Judith.
Okodo is calling on businessmen and stakeholders to rally behind the team, emphasizing that supporting the FUFA Drum tournament will nurture young talents and benefit the province and promote unity.
As a sport enthusiast, particularly football, Okodo is confident that collective effort will enable Lango Province to defend its trophy.
“The Lango Province team will utilize Jerusalem’s School Bus for transportation while awaiting a pledged bus from the president, ensuring smooth travel arrangements,” he added.
The media team, led by Gom Belmos has requested that the Lango Province management work closely with them and establish a single channel of communication to ensure effective mobilization and support.
The team wants to streamline their efforts and work collaboratively with the management to promote the province’s football team.
“By having a single channel of communication, we can ensure that we receive consistent and accurate information, which will enable us to effectively mobilize support for the team,” Gom said.
