Mukula to pick NRM nomination forms for CEC seat on July 4

Flight Captain Mike Mukula, the incumbent regional vice chairperson for Eastern Uganda at the NRM CEC is set to pick his expression of interest forms this week.

He will collect the forms at the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) headquarters in Kampala on Friday, July 4, 2025, and will formally launch his bid to contest for re-election.

Speaking to our reporter on Tuesday, Mukula confirmed his plans and revealed the schedule for form collection.

He stated that the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among, will pick her nomination forms at 10:00 am on July 4, followed by his own collection at midday.

Mukula also provided details regarding the party’s presidential nomination. He added the nomination for H.E. President Yoweri Museveni, chairman of the NRM (“the Movement” party), will take place online and at Kololo Independence Grounds on Saturday, July 5, 2025.

A seasoned leader with a significant legacy in the region, Mukula has been a pillar of the NRM for years. He is credited with championing development, unity, and progress throughout eastern Uganda.

While his opponent, Echodu Calvin, has campaigned actively, Mukula expressed confidence that voters will prioritize his experience, proven leadership, and tangible results.

Captain Mukula’s leadership has left a notable mark on eastern Uganda. His journey, from his early days as a bush war fighter to his tenure as State Minister for Health, has been marked by consistent advocacy for improved healthcare, infrastructure, and economic empowerment in the region.

In a recent address, he urged voters that “Leadership is not about empty words; it is about action and results. Do not be blindfolded by those who come with lies and no record of service. Together, we have achieved much, but there is more to do.”

As the election approaches, Mukula’s campaign emphasizes his vision, track record, and determination to keep eastern Uganda moving forward.

Supporters contend that Captain Mike Mukula remains the best candidate to steer both the NRM and the region toward greater heights.

The message is clear, he said: “Captain Mike Mukula stands ready to continue his journey of progress for Eastern Uganda, asserting that the people know who truly serves them.”
