Kampala | Isaac Odongo Ekuu, the NRM’s nominated candidate for Kyoga North County, has vowed to vigorously challenge rival political parties in the upcoming general elections.

His nomination was confirmed by the NRM party electoral commission official on Wednesday, June 25.

Addressing the media at the NRM Secretariat in Kampala after his formal nomination, Odongo said he is focusing on household income. “My integrity will ensure I achieve my vision for Kyoga North.”

He stated that other initiatives, such as constructing hospitals, schools, and roads, are government projects. However, as a proven leader, my responsibility is solely to lobby directly from office to office in order to ensure that government programs effectively reach the local community.

Odongo emphasized that the trust placed in the NRM by Kyoga North County residents would energize the party to promote its manifesto across all communities.

He praised the NRM government under President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for advancing democracy and sustaining peace in Uganda.

He asserted that Kyoga North had missed critical government programs for years due to self-serving leaders who abandoned their constituents. “Our people have suffered enough,” he said. “Enough is enough.”

Odongo positioned himself as the visionary leader the constituency needs, stating, “I will take over this seat as Member of Parliament for Kioga North in the 12th Parliament. I have come to succeed, not to fail.”

Reporting significant campaign momentum, Odongo pledged to transform Kioga North by leveraging his influence to secure development projects—particularly those empowering youth and women.

Concluding his appeal, he urged voters across party lines to grant the NRM government more time to lead.

“Support President Museveni and NRM MPs, including myself,” he emphasized, “so we can deliver further development before the 2026 elections.”
