Dwog Pacu Cup tournament makes “significant financial progress”

Kenneth Kaunda Okwir, chairman of the Dwog Pacu Cup 2025 Organising Committee, told tndNews that great progress is being made ahead of the competitions.

He stated that 14 out of 21 constituencies in the Lango sub-region have made their mandatory payments, while others have paid the full affiliation fee of shs500,000.

Constituencies that have yet to pay were given an extension from June 25 to Friday, June 27.

He stated that the opening ceremony, which was originally scheduled for July 7, has been moved to July 12 due to concerns raised by various constituencies.

These constituencies requested some changes so that they could raise funds for affiliations.

“The playing grounds will be UTC Lira and Lango College since the Lira Town College ground is being worked on.”

Jonan Okello, secretary of the Dwog Pacu Cup, stated on June 25 at the KK Cham Sports Centre in Lira City that once the payments are completed, each constituency will receive sets of jerseys as part of the tournament requirements.

Okello assured the public that jerseys for constituencies that had fully paid the affiliation fee were being processed and would be ready for distribution.

He encouraged other constituencies to pay by Friday, June 27, in order to receive their jerseys and participate in the tournament.
