St. Mary’s Magdalene reaches USSSA finals after a 6:0 win against Ogur SS

In girls’ football, St. Mary’s Magdalene SS in Lira City advanced to the Lango zonal USSSA finals on Friday.

The team dominated Ogur SS for 90 minutes in the semifinals.

Tino Mary, Anyer Flavia, Semaya Angela, Alaro Mary, and Acio Miriam each scored a goal.

Alum Irene was also on the scoresheet.

Alaro also scored five goals against Apac Seed SS on the first day.

In the final, St. Mary’s Magdalene will face Acaba SS, which defeated Adwari SS 2-0 in the semifinals.

The finals will be at noon at Ambalal primary school playground.

USSSA

The finals set the stage for a thrilling championship match between the two talented girls’ teams.

Here are the semifinal results for boys teams.

Wisdom High School defeated Lira Town College 2-0, advancing to the final.

Mentor SS, the defending champion, defeated Alemere Comprehensive School 2-0 and advanced to the final.

The final matches are scheduled for Saturday, April 12.

There will be play-offs for boys only, with third place up for grabs.

Lira Town College vs. Alemere Comprehensive SS at 10am.

Meanwhile, Ambalal primary school playground will host Mentor SS vs Wisdom High SS in the final match at 2pm.

The winners of the boys’ and girls’ teams will represent the Lango sub-region at the national championships.
