Lira City woman MP and Uganda’s Minister of Health, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, gave Bishop Sanctus Lino Wanok and Fr. Isaac Ojok a heartfelt donation on Sunday.
She was among the guests who witnessed the elevation of St. Peter’s Catholic sub-parish, Anai, to full parish status.
Dr. Aceng, who is well-known for her commitment to public health and community welfare, handed over an envelope containing the cash donation, emphasizing her willingness to support faith-based initiatives that benefit society.
A moment later, her significant cash contribution of shs20 million to facilitate the purchase of chairs at the newly elevated Catholic Parish was warmly received.
“Bishop Wanok and Fr. Ojok have been instrumental in guiding and serving the people,” she stated.
Dr. Aceng added that this contribution is a token of appreciation for their tireless efforts toward spiritual growth.
Similarly, Minister of Gender, Labour, and Social Development Betty Amongi (MP Oyam South), who works full-time in Lira City, donated shs20m to Anai Parish.
The contribution will be used to support various church projects, improve social services, and improve parishioner lives.
Minister Amongi emphasized the importance of faith-based development and collective responsibility in transforming communities.
The leadership of Anai Parish expressed profound gratitude, acknowledging the two ministers’ unwavering dedication to spiritual and socioeconomic growth.
