Lira: Awio Scrap’s promoters of ‘disastrous hooliganism’ arrested 

Police have arrested a self-proclaimed pastor and his team for committing disastrous hooliganism in Lira City on January 3, 2025.

Awio Isaac Jackson, also known as “Awio Scrap” and “Pastor Awio,” was seen in a viral video last week driving down Obote Avenue while his bouncers damaged the car of his former friend, Lil Square.

Scrap was previously arrested and is now joined by his squad.

North Kyoga Region Police PRO SP Jimmy Patrick Okema provided an update on the alleged assault on Ogwang Walter, also known as Lil Square, and malicious damage to his vehicle Reg. No. UBK 546Z.

He stated that on January 7, the DPC of Lira City CPS SSP Ampaire Brians and his team carried out an intelligence-led operation and apprehended all of the bouncers (suspects).

According to him, these bouncers were accused of taking part in the crime’s commission. He identified the full particulars of the suspects as follows:

Awio Isaac Jackson aged 28. He’s a businessman dealing in scraps and a resident of Obutuwelo ‘B’ cell, Obutuwelo ward, Lira City West Division.

Odyeny Erick is a 28 year old manager and bouncer of Heavens Hotel (owned by Awio). He’s a resident of Ireda Lumumba cell, Ireda East ward, Lira City East Division. He was arrested on January 6.

Arok David, alias Rock, is a 38-year-old bouncer and resident of Kakooge B cell, Kakooge Ward, Lira City West Division.

Another is Acai Bonny, also known as k29, a 25-year-old resident of Alito Camp Cell, Ojwina Ward, Lira City West Division.

Others are Okumu Ronald, 34. He is a bodaboda rider and bouncer who lives in Anai cell, Anai Ward, Lira City West Division; Omara Ambrose, also known as Omara Odokomit, is 27 and lives in Odokomit Ward, Lira City West Division.

Okoo Elvis, 24, is another suspect. He is a bouncer and produce dealer who lives in Wiodyek cell, Amach town council, Lira district.

“All are in police cells at Lira City CPS pending statement recordings and file compilation for submission to RCSA for review and legal advice before being produced in court,” SP Okema added.
