Kampala metropolitan police have killed four suspects in a foiled bank robbery.
In a brief statement on Monday evening, Uganda Police said they thwarted a bank robbery at Acacia Mall, neutralizing four suspects involved in a Stanbic Bank heist.
“A fifth suspect is in critical condition,” the Force added.
These individuals, according to the statement, were already on the police watch list and are believed to be linked to a series of robberies.
The event happened in Kololo, a few kilometres from the central business district.
A senior official at Stanic Bank has refuted the Police statement. This official we cannot name, said:
“They actually stole a mobile money from Kiira and were trailed to Kololo where they shot them. Stanbic is safe and was not attacked at all.
“We have our team deployed at stanbic and were not attacked. They witnessed the shootings on Kanjokya street.”
