Ahmed Salmin Mabrook was a well-known and successful businessman in Lira town.
The millionaire died leaving behind a number of well-established businesses.
On Tuesday, Deo Kibirige, Mabrook’s friend and businessman, ‘announced’ his death.
“…he has been one of our pioneer businessmen in Lira City,” Deo said.
He owned, among others, Mabrook Supermarket, which is located opposite Radio Lira, as well as Mabrook Restaurant on Kitgum Stage.
Mubarak Ahmed, one of his sons, spoke briefly with tndNews on Tuesday evening.
He described his late father as “a very religious man, hardworking, supportive; loving, and straightforward father.”
Patrick Ouni, membership and business development officer at the Chamber of Commerce Lira Branch, paid tribute to Mabrook.
He stated that “his untimely death has left an irreparable void in our lives and the business community.”
“As a respected hotelier, farmer, supermarket owner, and social entrepreneur, Mr. Mabrook was a pillar of our community. His tireless efforts to promote economic growth, create jobs, and support local businesses have had a lasting impact on our region.
“Mr. Mabrook’s friendship with the Chamber of Commerce Lira Branch spanned many years, and he was an ardent supporter of our initiatives.
“His wise counsel, generous spirit, and infectious enthusiasm inspired countless individuals, including ourselves.”
He was laid to rest in Jinja on Tuesday.
