Gulu | When Nigeria’s top singer arrived in Gulu City on Friday, he was greeted by a massive crowd of fans.
The heroic welcome continued as he marched to Ker Kwaro Acholi Palace, where thousands of his supporters greeted him.
Rwot Onen Acana II greeted Poul Nonso Okoye, also known as Rudeboy, and they exchanged positive words.
“The fans from Gulu City and the greater north made me happy, and I promised to set fire to them on stage tomorrow (Saturday) so they would remember me for the rest of their lives,” Rudeboy told Acholi Paramount Chief.
Okoye also thanked the Paramount Chief for welcoming him into the palace and blessing him before the concert. “I have come to a chiefdom that represents love and unity in Uganda and among the Acholi people.”
“I got highly welcomed at the airport (Entebbe) by Acholi traditional dance, I enjoyed it so much with a lot of love. This is a symbol of respect, love, and unity in the Acholi culture that I will not forget when I return to my home country.”
He promised to come to Acholi to find a place to settle because the environment is conducive to human settlement, and he asked the Paramount Chief for assistance in purchasing land.
Rwot David Onen Acana II thanked his guest for promoting African culture and acting as an ambassador for it.
Acana revealed that the Acholi culture, like other tribes in Uganda, is peaceful and has the most diverse traditional culture, including food and dances, in history.
“Let your coming to Acholi land be an exchange of culture between Acholi people and the Nigerian culture or the Luo who are based in your country to unite as a family,” Rwot Acana said.

The Paramount Chief also urged Poul Monso Okoye to embrace returning to Acholi land following his concert, as well as to seize this opportunity to bring more international artists to promote unity between the two countries.
Upon his arrival in Uganda, he was greeted with the Acholi traditional dance, Larakaraka.
He is scheduled to perform a musical show at the Acholi Inn Hotel in Gulu City today, Saturday.
