Kisoro | National Resistance Movement (NRM) leaders have assured supporters and the candidate for Kisoro district’s woman MP by-election that they will win the November 14 election.
Party officials made this assurance on November 7 while accompanying the NRM candidate, Rose Kabagyeni, on her campaign activities in Chahafi town council.
The sub-counties of Murora and Kanaba received the same message.
Jacqueline Kyatuhaire, the NRM’s Deputy National Treasurer, downplayed the importance of internal disputes among certain party factions. The ruling party, she emphasized, has faced many difficulties over the years and has not wavered.
“The NRM transcends individual interests. This resilience has allowed us to overcome any dissent among leaders, keeping us focused on our primary goal of winning elections,” Kyatuhaire stated.
With a strong history of support in Kisoro district, Kyatuhaire stated that they will build on this foundation by promoting government livelihood programs aimed at improving the population’s well-being.
“Our supporters are steadfast and will not be swayed by the ambitions of self-serving leaders. No individual surpasses the NRM or the people of Kisoro. Their choices made during the primary elections must be honored,” she added.
Kabagyeni has stated her willingness to effectively advocate for improved healthcare, education, and infrastructure if elected to parliament before the 2026 general elections.
“I have prior experience in parliament and am familiar with the legislative process. I urge you to place your trust in me with your votes, so I can address the projects left unfinished by the late Hon. Sarah Mateke.”
She encouraged voters to vote for her with a large majority. “Please remember to vote before tending to your gardens and businesses. Your participation is vital in selecting the right candidate for the position,” she urged.

November 8, 2024, will be Kabagyenyi’s fifth day of campaigning. She is expected to cover Bukimbiri County and other areas.
