Miss Lango contest: a show of grace, beauty, and flair

Lira | On Saturday, July 20, 2024, Queen Linda Acio Abong, 23, of the Bako Olang clan, was crowned Miss Lango for 2024/2025.

As contestant No. 8, she shone brightly, exuding grace and beauty.

Queen Amaro Peace, 25, of the Okiime Okabo clan, represented people with disabilities.

Peace, contestant No. 10, was crowned first runner-up and given the title of ‘Miss Ability Lango,’ highlighting her inspirational story.

Queen Acheng Priscilla, 18, of the Palamyek clan, was contestant number six. Her performance mesmerised both the audience and the judges. She was in contention for the title, but fell short, finishing second runner-up.

Kudos to these exceptional young ladies for their outstanding accomplishments and for embodying the spirit and beauty of the Lango culture.

Hundreds of cheering spectators attended the pageant, including Boniface Okot, Northern Youth MP. He was also the guest of honour.

Representatives from Lira City Woman MP and Health Minister Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero was present.

Linda Agnes Auma, the Woman MP for Lira district, was also in attendance, as were cultural leaders.
