Gutumoi to be buried on July 21

Lira, July 9, 2023: Tentative program for the burial of former Erute North MP (10th) Parliament, Charles Angiro Gutumoi Abacacon has been released. 

Angiro, until his death was the clan chief (Awitong) of Onywal Ipyeda. He died on the spot Saturday morning after a car he and others were travelling in overturned on their way to Nebbi.

Two others, including a 12-year-old child, died, according to a statement by Nwoya Police.

Burial. “The suggested burial date by the Lango Parliamentary Group is on the 21st of July 2023,” Olet said.

Tentative program 

The body arrived at Lira Regional Referral Hospital mortuary on Saturday at 8:00 pm.

The first burial meeting already started Saturday at the deceased home at Kirombe North ‘A’, Akwoyo ward.

The second burial meeting will take place today (Sunday) at 2:00 pm.

“It’s my humble request that we attend in great numbers so we can give our Hero Hon. Charles Angiro Gutumoi a decent burial,” Olet appeals.

On May 30, 2018, Abacacon had a similar road crash on his way to Kampala from Lira. The 4 am crash fractured his leg and he would later be transferred to Mulago National Referral Hospital for better management.
