List: ‘Names of genuine UPC flag bearers for MP seats in 2021 general elections’

These names of flag bearers were confirmed by Mr Jackson Ahimbisibwe, the UPC deputy Secretary General attached to Mr Peter Walubiri’s side.

Lira—September 30, 2020: Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) party continues to make many Ugandans calculate what they are up to as far as the 2021 general elections is concerned.

Even after Court of Appeal Justices ordering for fresh elections, nullifying Akena’s presidency, Akena has continued to move his faction forward. Same way, Peter Walubiri faction says they are legitimate UPC leadership after Court of Appeal’s judgement early this month.

With the Electoral Commission yet to communicate to both factions who the legitimate side they will do political (civic) business with ahead of the next polls due early 2021, both Akena and Walubiri, according to some political pundits, both factions should merge for the betterment of oldest party’s vision and Uganda’s quest for democracy.

Now, a list of names of flag bearers for MP seats has leaked to this publication, with one side saying they are genuine UPC members and endorsed candidates for the party.

3. Jimmy K. Olanya Olenge-Kitgum Municipality

4. Hon. Julius Ocen – Kapelebyong.

5. Hon.Jane Nabulindo- Busia

6. Paul Omara – Otuke West County

7. Viola Nahabwe- Kabale Municipality

8. Micky Kayala – West Budama North

9. Hon. Jonathan Odur- Erute South.

10. Hon. Ocen Akalo – Kole South.

11. Ereemieye Rebecca – Kaliro District

12. Hon. Santa Alum- Oyam District.
