Kampala—6, June 2020: Nine frontline health workers tested positive for coronavirus on Friday—Ministry of Health has confirmed. This brings their total to 17.
Announcing Friday’s test results on Saturday evening, the same Ministry confirmed 36 new Covid-19 cases.
“All new confirmed cases are Ugandans among them alerts and contacts. Nine (9) are frontline health workers from Kampala,” adds the Ministry.
“One (1) is a contact from Buvuma, fifteen (15) contacts are from Kyotera, two (2) contacts are from Mayuge, one (1) contact is from Pader, eight (8) contacts are from Yumbe.”
All contacts to previously confirmed cases were under quarantine at the time of test.
Eleven (11) foreigners from earlier collected samples tested positive for Covid-19,” a statement further reveals.
