Uganda’s Covid-19 total cases now 616 as 23 test positive on Saturday

Kampala—7, June 2020: On Sunday evening, the Ministry of Health confirmed 23 new Covid-19 cases for Saturday.

“The total confirmed cases are now 616,” Ministry’s statement reads in part.

The same Ministry confirmed that seven truck drivers from Elegu, Mutukula and Mirama Hills Points of Entry tested positive.

“One security personnel from Elegu, one case is a frontline health worker, fourteen cases from contacts and alerts from; Kyotera, Adjumani, Tororo and Amuru districts.”

All 47 foreign truck drivers who tested positive for Covid-19 were handed over to their countries of origin

Uganda has recorded 96 total recoveries with zero death

“1, 515 samples from Points of Entry were tested today on Saturday, 949 samples from alerts and contacts, 3p samples from health workers.”

Total samples tested were 2,494.
