Oyam | Jane Francis Acilo, an aspirant for Oyam district woman MP in the 2026 general election, has called on NRM party members in the district to remain calm and united.
Acilo announced her candidacy for district woman MP weeks ago, beginning with the upcoming party primary elections.
According to Acilo, who is widely expected to win the primary elections and represent the country, it is “time for new leadership and results.”
Acilo, through her political and mobilisation office, told this publication that she is committed to creating a better future for all Oyam residents, highlighting her main areas of focus as agriculture, water and sanitation, improved road networks, and education.
She also promised to support women, widows, the elderly, girls, and boys during her first term in office if the people of Oyam elected her in 2026.
To accomplish this, Acilo has called for “unity and support” among NRM party members, urging them to “rally behind her candidacy” beginning with the party’s primary elections.
“I am ready to strengthen the mighty party in Oyam, to rebuild robust and strong structures, and to ensure membership growth during my first term as a woman MP,” she promised.
“United, we are strong, and this means that our national chairman and President of the Republic of Uganda, HE. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, can be guaranteed a massive victory in Oyam,” Jane Acilo said.
On April 15, NRM party secretariat released 2025/26 roadmap for primary and structure elections.
Speaking at the launch, NRM secretary general Richard Todwong described the exercise as “a very important milestone for the party and called on party members to be very observant of the dates proposed for all party activities.”
