Ruhinda North MP Thomas Tayebwa spoke shortly after taking oath on Friday May 15.
Winding his term as deputy speaker of Parliament, Tayebwa told the press that he will comply with whatever instructions President Museveni will give him.
This regards his next position in the 12th Parliament and the new government. He was very quick to say, “…i am a true cadre of the National Resistance Movement.”
“I want to thank the President, who first of all gave me an opportunity to serve as Government Chief. And thereafter, he promoted me and I served as Deputy Speaker.
“Now, my duty as a true cadre of the party is to wait for further instructions from him. And I have to dutifully and 100% comply with whatever instructions he gives me.”
Tayebwa and Annet Anita Among, according to viral sources, may not be leaders of the 12th Parliament due to corruption, lavish lifestyles with irregular accountabilities concerns.
However, in his latest post, CDF Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, President Museveni’s son and special presidential adviser on special operations, said, among other things, that “Tayebwa is protected.”
For Among, will dark days loom for her?
