Fresh claims have emerged amid ongoing debate about whether Ugandan socialite Ivan Ssemwanga is still alive, with a journalist providing more details about a man identified as Ali Ssenyomo, who was allegedly linked to some of the socialite’s properties.
In a statement, the journalist insisted that Ali Ssenyomo was a real person who lived in South Africa for several years. He claimed that Ssenyomo became one of Ssemwanga’s proxies and that several properties allegedly belonging to the socialite were registered in the man’s names.
The journalist further claimed that before relocating to South Africa, Ssenyomo operated as a dealer along William Street in Kampala. According to the account, his alleged business connections later became linked to property arrangements involving Ssemwanga.
One of the most serious claims concerns Ssenyomo’s reported death in 2015. The journalist described the circumstances surrounding his death as mysterious, although he did not provide details or evidence explaining what happened.

He also alleged that following Ssenyomo’s death, some properties previously registered in his names were transferred to other individuals. These reportedly included a hostel in the Makerere area and several land titles.
The claims have added another layer to the public discussion surrounding Ssemwanga, particularly questions about his alleged business dealings, property ownership and the people who may have acted on his behalf.
However, the journalist’s account has not independently established the ownership history of the properties or the circumstances surrounding Ssenyomo’s reported death. The allegations should therefore be treated as claims that require further verification.
As speculation about Ssemwanga’s reported death continues, the latest revelations have raised fresh questions about Ali Ssenyomo’s identity, his alleged relationship with the socialite and the fate of properties said to have been registered in his name.
