Ugandan statesman, politician, entrepreneur, and pilot, Captain George Michael Mukula, is set to be honoured at the 7th Edition of the Iconic Global Summit 2026, organisers have announced.

Mukula, who is also the former NRM Vice Chairperson for the Eastern region, will represent Uganda at the event next month.

The event, organised by Iconic International Holdings in strategic collaboration with ECLORE Révèle-toi par ta voix, is scheduled to take place from December 8 to 12, 2026, at The Fleuve Congo Hotel in Kinshasa, DR Congo. The main award gala is slated for December 10th.

Speaking to tndNews, Uganda, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, Captain Mukula, who serves as the Chairman and Owner of the Mukula Group of Companies, said he will be recognised for his multifaceted contributions to continental development.

The nomination was confirmed in an official invitation letter from Amb. Dr. Mayorkings Temisan, representing Iconic International Holdings and the Mayorkings Charity Foundation.

“We are thrilled to officially notify you of your nomination and selection by our jury to be honoured at the 7th Edition of the Iconic Global Summit/Honors 2026,” the invitation letter stated.

Mukula added that the theme for this year’s summit is “Bridging Global Excellence, Leadership, and Sustainable Development for Continental Transformation.”

The organisers noted that Captain Mukula’s selection is a testament to his remarkable excellence in leadership and entrepreneurship.

His profile aligns closely with the summit’s focus. He is celebrated not only as a political leader and entrepreneur but also as a professional pilot, embodying a diverse career that spans aviation, business, and public service.

As part of the recognition, the organisers have extended an invitation for Captain Mukula to participate in a corporate nominees interview. The event package also includes optional opportunities for an Honorary Doctorate, details of which were included in the official invitation.

In addition to the gala, the five-day summit aims to foster high-level networking and discussions on sustainable development across Africa.

The event is sponsored by various partners, including Tuz, with a call for further sponsorship and partnership participation currently open to the public.

For Mukula, the honour adds to a legacy of leadership in Uganda. His recognition in Kinshasa highlights the cross-border impact of his work and the growing trend of continental initiatives aimed at celebrating African excellence.

Distinguished guests, nominees, and industry leaders are expected to converge on the Fleuve Congo Hotel in December 2026 to witness the celebration of these achievements.
