Moses Ssempebwa, a Qatar-based Ugandan, is reportedly devastated after a house he was constructing was demolished in an incident allegedly involving a local council official and people who sold him the land.

Ssempebwa says he had invested more than Shs150 million in purchasing the land and constructing the house before the demolition occurred. The incident has left him worried about the money he has spent and the future of his property.

According to the account, the house was still under construction when it was reportedly brought down. Ssempebwa is seeking answers about why the demolition took place and why the people involved allegedly decided to destroy a property in which he had invested so much.

The circumstances surrounding the demolition remain unclear. Questions have been raised about the land transaction, the authority under which the structure was demolished and whether the parties involved had a dispute over ownership or development rights.

Ssempebwa has reportedly expressed fear for his personal safety, claiming that he has received threats warning him against returning to the site to rebuild the house. He fears that attempting to continue with construction could expose him to further confrontation.

The situation has prompted him to appeal to President Yoweri Museveni for intervention. He wants the matter investigated and hopes the authorities will help establish what happened to his property and protect his interests.

For someone working abroad and investing money back home, the reported destruction represents a major financial setback. His case also highlights the concerns that can arise when land ownership disputes and construction disagreements escalate into confrontations. As Ssempebwa seeks help, key questions remain unanswered, including the legal basis for the demolition and the response of the local council official and the people accused of participating in it. Independent verification and statements from the parties involved would help establish the full circumstances of the incident.
