The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) has responded to Office of the National Chairman (ONC) manager Hadijah Namyalo after her Bugisu team publicly endorsed President Yoweri Museveni for continued leadership beyond 2031.

The endorsement took place during World Tourism Day celebrations in Mbale on September 27, where members of the ONC Bugisu team displayed banners supporting Museveni as he addressed the gathering.

Chris Buyela, who represented the Bugisu team and Namyalo, said their endorsement reflected their views on Museveni’s contribution to Uganda’s development and youth programmes.

The move attracted a strong response from PLU leaders, who are conducting a nationwide endorsement campaign for Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba ahead of the 2031 presidential election.

PLU General Secretary Fadil Twalla addressed Namyalo on X, saying PLU respects the National Resistance Movement and had previously worked with it under the Tuko Pamoja arrangement.
