The government has handed over 18 new vehicles to Regional Coordinators under Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) to enhance mobility and strengthen the monitoring and supervision of government-funded development programmes.

The vehicles comprise Toyota Hilux pickups, minibuses and Isuzu vehicles, with expectation that they will improve the coordinators’ capacity to oversee the implementation of key government initiatives, including the Parish Development Model (PDM), Emyooga, infrastructure and construction projects, as well as other development interventions across the regions.

Handing over the vehicles at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds, the OWC Transport Officer, Major Moses Muwakanya, urged the recipients to prioritise road safety, proper vehicle management and regular maintenance in accordance with manufacturers’ guidelines.

Maj Muwakanya said responsible use and proper upkeep of the vehicles would ensure they remain effective in supporting field operations and programme implementation.

The OWC chief coordinator is Gen. Caleb Akandwanaho, widely known as Salim Saleh.
