Kotido – 8, December 2021: Police in Kotido has appealed to the public to continue partnering with them in fighting crimes in the district.
The appeal follows a successful arrest of armed warriors by some community members in recent days. The suspects were later handed over to police.
TND News understands that the suspects who are from Panyangara parish in Kotido south division gunned down a parish chief at his home at around 7pm.
They were later arraigned before the Kotido chief magistrate court and remanded to Kotido prison.
In Kanawat trading center, a one Lodia Lotii who raped a close relative in her teen age was also arrested by the locals who handed him over to police.
Sources in police said before his arrest, “They went to hunt for him.”
Lodia was arraigned before Court on 29, November after police findings indicated that the minor was sexually assaulted.

He is expected to [re] appear before the same Court on the 10, December for mention of his case.
In an exclusive interview [clip below] with TND News Ochero, ASP Echodu Tadeo who is a detective from, Kotido district police CID department appealed to the public to continue with the same spirit in order to sustain sanity in the district.
“The act makes the work of the police easier and quickens bringing the criminals to book because the community knows their members more than police,” he added.
