Otuke East MP Acon drills more boreholes, asks God for good health to continue supporting constituents

RDC

Three boreholes were commissioned in Otuke East and one in Abia sub-county, Alebtong district – a long-term project by MP Julius Acon Bua.

The new boreholes are part of his project to drill 10 new boreholes during and after he is sworn in to start his new five-year term.

Ajia in Gotojwang parish, Olilim sub-county, Te-Oboke in Omwonylee parish, Ogor sub-county, Atinkok in Abia sub-county in Alebtong and Awaka Ogik in Anep-Moroto parish, Orum sub-county, Otuke district have “the Achon’s boreholes.”

Francis Omara and several residents who spoke during the commissioning, admitted they were previously worried that Acon might not deliver.

They noted that many politicians often make empty promises during election seasons to win votes, leading some to believe these were merely “political lies.”

In response, MP Acon stated that during the campaign period, he moved across Otuke East and promised residents he would end the water crisis in the district.

The MP vowed to extend his hand to various parts of the Lango sub-region so that residents could access clean water for their needs.

Acon emphasised his desire for residents to use water for productive activities to generate income. He also noted that access to clean water would help fight diseases caused by poor sanitation and dirty water, supporting both his efforts and the government’s goal of protecting citizens’ health.

He also inspected the borehole sites to ensure they were properly fenced so that livestock would not share the same water source as people, as has often happened in the past.

“If God continues to protect me and grant me good health, I will use all my connections to seek international support for my constituents,” he stated.

Known as “The Boy who Runs”, Acon highlighted his participation in a marathon in Australia, which helps raise funds to drill boreholes, distribute clothing, and provide various forms of aid to the community.
