
National—14, June 2020: The Ministry of Health has confirmed 11 new Covid-19 cases for Saturday. The new cases are out of 2,949 total samples tested on Saturday.
The total confirmed cases are now 696, the Ministry says in a statement via Twitter on Sunday morning.
All new confirmed cases are Ugandans.
Six (6) truck drivers: Three (3) from Elegu, while another three (3) were from Malaba Point of Entry.
According to the Ministry, one (1) frontline health worker tested positive for the virus. Total number of health workers to have contracted the virus in the country are now 28.
“Four (4) cases are among contacts and alerts: One (1) from Buikwe, one (1) from Lira, one (1) from Adjumani and one (1) from Amuru districts.”
“The contact from Adjumani was under quarantine,” adds the Ministry.
All thirty-three (33) foreign truck drivers tested positive for Covid-19 and were handed back to their country of origin.
Uganda has a total recovery of 240 people.

According to the Ministry, 1,564 samples were tested from Points of Entry and 1,385 samples from contacts and alerts.
