The State House Anti-Corruption Unit says in collaboration with the Criminal Investigations Department and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has charged Lutwaama Isaac Magandaazi.
Lutwaama is “a renowned land grabber,” State House said in a statement on Friday. He was charged at the Mityana Chief Magistrate’s Court with obtaining money by false pretences.
He has been remanded until April 9, 2026.
Between March and August 2020, at Nawanga, Zigoti town council in Mityana district, Lutwaama falsely claimed he was selling land located at Block 24, Plot 53, which he did not own.
He fraudulently obtained shs37 million from a victim by pretending to sell this non-existent property.
Investigations revealed that Lutwaama misled the victim into believing he was the legitimate owner of the land, yet it had a rightful owner.
The victim subsequently reported the incident to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, leading to Lutwaama’s arrest. He later confessed to obtaining millions of shillings from the complainant.
Further investigations have uncovered that Lutwaama Isaac has multiple similar cases in both Mityana and Wakiso.
“The public is urged to come forward if they have been defrauded or if their land has been unlawfully taken by him,” the Anti-Corruption agency added in a statement.
