Amolatar – Etam: Boy, 3, woke up full of life only to die hours later 

Etam, Amolatar | On November 6, 2025, a tragic and unexpected incident unfolded in Etam sub-county, Amolatar.

The tragedy was the heartbreaking loss of a three-year-old Okello Joshua. The deceased was the son of local teacher, Ayuli Santos.

Full of life after waking up from bed, Joshua reportedly played nearby while his mother did household chores, specifically washing clothes.

As the day progressed, concern grew when the family realised that Okello was missing. Frantic calls echoed through the neighbourhood as his parents searched for him, their hearts filled with dread.

Sadly, their worst fears were confirmed when they discovered Okello floating lifelessly in a shallow well hole that had been dug around their home.

The news of this devastating loss sent shockwaves through the community. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the child’s body, prompting a collective outpouring of grief and disbelief from the family, friends, and neighbours.

Local authorities were notified, and police from Etam sub-county quickly arrived at the scene to investigate this heartbreaking accident.

Teacher Ayuli Santos and his family now find themselves amidst unimaginable sorrow, and the community stands together in mourning the untimely death of a bright young life.

As the investigation unfolds, thoughts and prayers are extended to the Santos family during this profoundly difficult time.
