Jane Frances Acilo: Why she’s the most suitable candidate for Oyam District Woman MP

In just seven months, Jane Frances Acilo has proven why she is the strongest and most prepared candidate to represent Oyam District in Parliament.

Before stepping into politics, Jane was already making an impact through Abja Farms in Myene Sub-County, where she focused on agriculture, business, and regional economic development.

Her extensive networks across East Africa and beyond opened doors for collaboration and opportunities that benefited women and youth in the agribusiness sector.

Jane has rolled out impactful initiatives that prove she is not just a candidate, but a results-driven leader.

On March 27, during Oyam’s belated International Women’s Day celebrations, she launched a seed distribution program, distributing 1,000kg of maize seeds, which was later expanded to 15,000kg across 16 sub-counties. This initiative directly empowered farmers and strengthened household incomes.

On March 10, she hosted Kenya’s First Daughter, Charlene Ruto, in Oyam to foster exchange programs and champion youth and women in agriculture, linking the district to regional and international opportunities.

Through the Jane Acilo Foundation (JAF), launched on August 4, she introduced programs in education, health, and leadership development. That same week, she organized free health camps that treated over 4,000 patients, with most receiving instant treatment.

She has continued to support education sponsorships for bright but underprivileged pupils, ensuring that no talent in Oyam is left behind.

With a global outlook, Jane invited Dr. David Mulopa, a renowned South African leadership expert, to Oyam, exposing local communities to international leadership practices and insights.

Her grassroots legitimacy is unquestionable, she won the NRM primaries with 69,000 votes, the highest in the country, cementing her as the people’s choice.

In August, she held a private meeting with President Yoweri Museveni to present the pressing issues of Oyam. Impressed by her work, the President applauded her efforts and became the first to endorse her for the 2026–2031 parliamentary term officially.

Jane’s ability to turn vision into tangible results sets her apart. From empowering households and improving healthcare to building international partnerships, she has demonstrated that she doesn’t wait for office to make an impact, she delivers now.

Oyam was once a UPC stronghold, but under Jane’s leadership, the NRM’s confidence has been revived and strengthened. She has shown that unity, strategy, and people-centered leadership can transform the district.

Jane Frances Acilo is not just an aspirant. She is a trailblazer, a servant leader, and the most suitable candidate to represent Oyam District Women in Parliament.
