Lira | The corporate gala was established by the Lira City Elite Club, a non-profit marketing organization.
The gala brings together businesses, organizations/institutions, and communities to explore opportunities and engage in sports.
In addition, the intentio is to make a difference and take on corporate social responsibility.
The gala is held on the first Sunday of each month at Lira Town College’s playground, and it features 24 teams.
Football, aerobics, volleyball, netball, tug-of-war, and indoor games like scrabble, draft, ludo, chess, and mweso are among the sports and games that are included in the event.
Kinkukaire Zainabu Lukumu, also known as Queen Coordinator Lira Cooperate Gala, spoke with tndNews.
She emphasized the corporate gala’s goals of promoting cooperation, togetherness, health, and fitness among its participants.
She stated that the monthly events also serve to raise brand awareness and activities, as well as promote the Lira City brand.
In her heartfelt words of gratitude, she thanked service providers for always organizing medical camps on event days where communities could receive health services such as HIV testing and counseling, tuberculosis screening, sickle cell testing, dental care, blood donation, and first aid.
Radio QFM, KCB Bank, Coca-Cola, MTN Uganda, Centenary Bank, Uganda Police Force, Space Lounge, Lira Town College, 5th Division in Acolpii, and Housing Finance Bank are among the registered corporate teams or companies that always participate.
Others include KK Cham Sports Centre, the Minister of Water and Environment, Super Select, Mount Meru, Palmerias FC, Legends, UBL, Lira Regional Referral Hospital, and JLOS.
