SSP Charles Nsaba, Regional Police Commander (RPC) for Kiira Region, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, and Inspector General of Police, Mr. Abbas Byakagaba, for prioritizing police officers’ welfare through the strategic rollout of new uniforms and accessories.
Speaking at the delivery of the assortments on Friday, May 9, 2025, at the Kiira regional headquarters, SSP Nsaba emphasized that the improved uniforms will improve professionalism, teamwork, and officer identification.
He stated that the aforementioned is critical for coordinated and timely responses across units.
Two trucks with registration numbers UP 9611 and UP 8835, transported the uniforms and uniform parts to the regional offices.
Department heads, Divisional Police Commanders (DPCs), and other senior officers were all present during the exercise.
The new uniform has prominently displayed Force Numbers and surnames for identification. Officers’ uniforms also bear ranks, while the national flag on the left sleeve symbolizes authority and respect for the uniformed service.
According to the Regional Human Resource Officer, SSP Andrew Muzira, all officers in Jinja across all units received two pairs of the new design uniforms, ensuring no one was left out.
“There will be a consistent supply moving forward,” he affirmed.
Corporal Abila Moses (Force No. 46524), attached to the Child and Family Protection Unit (CFPU), commended the IGP for improving officer morale, which he said would enhance service delivery.
ASP Agaba Ignatius, OC Station at CPS Jinja Central, also extended his appreciation to the police leadership.
“These new uniforms instill pride and commitment. We are ready to serve the community better,” he remarked.
The public has responded positively, praising the improved logistical and operational support. Many believe the smart appearance of officers will elevate public confidence and reinforce effective policing.
In addition to the uniform upgrade, all duty officers in the region are being provided with hot, balanced meals daily, including weekends, a development credited with boosting morale, discipline, and performance.
The new police uniform package includes two pairs of uniforms, black t-shirts labeled “UPF,” stockings, headdress, and shoes.
