Frances Acilo launches 7 km access road works in Myene

Myene, Oyam | Jane Frances Acilo has begun rehabilitation work on a 7-kilometer access road in Myene sub-county, Oyam district.

Tipped to be the next woman MP in the 12th Parliament, the NRM party member has identified road, education, and agriculture as critical sectors in which she will invest heavily.

The community access road leads from Mairo 13 on the Kamdini-Gulu Highway to Okoro ‘City’ in Myene sub-county.

On February 14, the official launch of the road works took place. Each sub-county in Oyam district, Acilo said, will be supported with smooth access road.

She has hired sino trucks, which have begun distributing murrum along the designated route.

Frances is also vying for the NRM party flag ahead of the 2026 general elections. Dozens of NRM members and leaders across Oyam have expressed their support for her.

Acilo received overwhelming support for the party flag and the 2026 general election at a recent meeting with party leaders and supporters.
