Oyam road crashes claim three lives in two days

Oyam | Three people have died in Oyam district as a result of road crashes in the past two days.

The first incident occurred on Sunday at Loro Town Council, when a Sino Truck registration number UAS 761G lost control and killed two mechanics who were repairing a Pickup truck registration number UAL 428L.

SP Job Mutegeki, DPC of Oyam, identified the deceased as Daniel Ojok and Obuku Samuel Oscar. He revealed that their bodies had been transported to Anyeke Health Centre IV mortuary while they awaited postmortem.

However, he did reveal that both vehicles are now parked at the Loro Police Station for Motor Vehicles Inspection. The driver who allegedly killed these people remains at large.

The second incident occurred on Monday, January 20 at Kamdini town council on the Gulu-Kampala highway, when passengers were surprised to discover that one Musinguzi Fred, a resident of Kisanja cell, Kisimba Ward in Masindi municipality, had mysteriously died in an Ipsum car with registration number UAP 605S.

A passenger who preferred anonymity stated that they learned of Musinguzi’s death from Minakulu town council around 10 a.m.

His death was reported to Kamdini Police Station and recorded under SD REF 08/20/01/2025.

SP Job Mutegeki told tndNews that the investigation was ongoing.

By Tuesday morning, the deceased was still in the Anyeke Health Centre IV Mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.
