Kole | On Sunday, the Council of Awitong of the Pala Ocol clan forgave Prime Minister (Rwot Adwong) Tom Odongo.
According to the Council, he misled a group of clan leaders who meet with the leader of the Lango Cultural Institution, a faction led by Eng. Michael Odongo Okune.
Odongo was forgiven after confessing and later pleading for forgiveness from the Council and Awitong, Ambassador Dickson Ogwang-Okul.
Rwot Adwong admitted that he was “lured to meet Odongo Okune” after being offered scholarships.

Eng. Odongo Okune has promised scholarships to several clan leaders affiliated with the Lango Cultural Institution for their children and grandchildren.
Lango Cultural Foundation under Mzee Yosam Odur Ebii believes that for years it has been their responsibility of securing scholarships through structured criteria.
Ambassador Dickson Ogwang-Okul, Awitong of Pala Ocol, says his leadership principles are founded on truth, forgiveness, peace, and reconciliation.
He has asked his Council to forgive Odongo Tom, who has promised never to return to Odongo Okune’s camp again.
“I did not have adequate knowledge of the reality of LCI and Odong Okune’s claim of legitimate election,” Tom had previously told the Council.
He told tndNews that “having understood clearly the manipulations and massive illegalities surrounding the March 2024 election that Eng. Michael Odongo Okune’s team are relying on, he is now well equipped to enlighten the people of Pala Ocol and other clans in Lango to rally around His Highness Mzee Yosam Odur’s choice.”
Last month, Won Nyaci Yosam “annointed his successor,” Ambassador Dickson Ogwang-Okul, who stated that even with the blessing of the reigning Paramount Chief, he is prepared to compete with any interested Awitong for the Won Nyaci office.
