Lira | From health to education – WASH to supporting the City’s business community, Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero has always been a strong supporter of the various sports that her constituents participate in.
Dr. Aceng, the Lira City Woman MP, has made numerous contributions to the sports sector up to the present.
Aceng has provided sets of uniforms and balls to football clubs in Lira City.
On Saturday, July 6, 2024, she donated sh1 million to Lira Main Market Sports Club.
The money was used to buy sports uniforms for the players.
The items were bought and delivered to the club by Lira main market chairman Bazil Edwoko.
She has also provided sets of branded jerseys and balls to other Lira City clubs, including Jerusalem Soccer Academy, Lira Sports Club, Rhino Soccer Academy, Abongoden FC, and Awita United FC.
Balls and netballs were distributed to youth at the ward level. These sets of jerseys and balls cost shs3.2 million.
Dr. Aceng has been a strong supporter of Lango Province, the current FUFA Drum competition champions.
Dr. Aceng’s Lira City office reports that her support for the Lango Province team alone is worth shs15 million from 2022 to 2024.
“This has motivated the boys and brought the trophy for the fourth edition home,” says her political office.
