Amolatar | A strange bolt of lightning from Lake Kyoga struck a grass-thatched house on Tuesday morning.
The incident left the residents of Bangala A in Amolatar district in shock.
Soon after the strike, the house began to burn down to the ground.
Etemu Peter owns the affected house, and he was inside at the time of the unusual event.
His wife was not home at the time of the incident.
Etemu was left unconscious for several hours.

Amina Akello of Bangala told tndNews that “despite the lack of rain, a strange event occurred in Lake Kyoga, resulting in a lightning strike that hit Etemu’s home this morning, reducing it to ashes.”
Bosco Olumu, an elder and Etemu’s neighbour, stated that the strange lightning struck around 10:30 a.m.
“When such a phenomenon occurs in the Lake, strong winds usually sweep across the land, causing damage to houses.”
“This happens every two years,” Olumu added.
By Wednesday morning, Etemu had regained his knowledge and ability to think clearly.
