Desperate lady, 22, steals newborn baby in Amolatar

Amolatar | A desperate 22-year-old woman is being held at the Amolatar Central Police Station.

She has been identified as Akullo Stella, a peasant from Apitopat village, Kayago parish, Namasale sub-county, Amolatar district.

She was arrested Friday morning at Namasale Ferry Point after stealing a newborn baby girl from Amolatar Health Centre IV last night.

Acio Winnie, 21, who is married to Opio Emmy and lives in Angayiki village, Aburkidi parish, Arwotcek sub-county, Amolatar district, gave birth last night.

She explained that she gave birth at 10 p.m., and that around 2 a.m., Akullu Stella informed her grandmother Agweng Collins that the nurse wanted to give the baby injection.

She (Acio) took the baby along with Akullo, who duped her grandmother and fled with the child.

Prior to stealing the baby, Akullu was seen all day around the hospital, but no one suspected her.

The desperate woman is now at Amolatar Central Police Station, where a criminal case under SD reference 02/24/05/2024 has been filed against her.
